Germany driving tour in Bavaria

Driving Tour Itinerary:

DAY 1: Frankfurt
Arrival in Frankfurt by own arrangements. Find the documentation for the tour upon check in at your hotel. Overnight at Hotel InterCityHotel or similar.

DAY 2: Frankfurt - Rothenburg - Dinkelsbuehl (B)
After breakfast you are driving along the Autobahn A3 towards Wuerzburg through the Spessart mountains. Following the scenic Taubervalley, passing by small, historical villages you arrive at Rothenburg o.d. Tauber, the medieval jewel of Germany, where at 2:00 p.m., starting at the city hall, you may join the city walk. From there it is just a short ride to Dinkelsbuehl, the former Free Imperial Town, surrounded by ancient town walls which you will explore when you accompany the Night Watchman in the evening. Overnight at Hotel Goldene Kanne or similar.

DAY 3: Dinkelsbuehl - Noerdlingen - Augsburg (B)
In the morning you are heading south to Noerdlingen, the only town in Germany, where you can walk the walls and battlements all the way round, the historical old town is dominated by the 100 yard high bell tower of St. George church. Your next stop is Augsburg - founded more than 200 years ago by the Roman Emperor Augustus. Join a city tour, starting at 2:00 p.m. from the city hall. Overnight at Hotel InterCityHotel or similar.

DAY 4: Augsburg - Wies - Hohenschwangau (B)
After breakfast you are following the Romantic Road  heading to the Alps, where the first stop will be at the Wies Church, another architectural treasure and the most beautiful rococo church of Bavaria. The Romantic Roads ends in Fuessen and only 3 km away is Hohenschwangau with the Royal Castles. Upon check-in at Hotel Mueller you will receive your tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle. (Please note that latest admission is at 3:30 p.m.!) Overnight at Hotel Mueller or similar.

DAY 5: Hohenschwangau (B)
Tour ends with breakfast. If not done the day before, you will visit Neuschwanstein Castle today
